Bad Financial Advice

It is very difficult to decide how to invest your hard-earned savings or choose which pension fund to pay in to. You will have to take into account many factors and in those circumstances, it is reasonable and prudent to rely on a professional adviser. If you took advice how did you choose your adviser? Were they recommended? Do you know if they were qualified? Do you know if they were independent (an IFA) or tied? Did their advice turn out well for you?

 

Have you lost money?

There are many good financial advisers but if you were not fortunate enough to pick a good one have you lost money? If so explain the circumstances to us and we will see if you have a claim.

For example:

  • Were you were persuaded to leave your final salary scheme (but the returns were not what you hoped for)?
  • Did you cash in some of your pension pot (but now you are short of money)?
  • Were you persuaded to invest in a risky self-invested personal pension (SIPP) (but the money has been lost)?
  • Did you put your savings into “guaranteed” investment projects (but the investment failed)?

If you have suffered loss from bad financial advice you have received you may have a claim. Contact us and we will look into it. If we think that you have a case we will pursue it for you on a “no-win, no-fee” agreement.

We will firstly make a complaint to the firm that advised you. If you have already complained we will make sure that your complaint has been fairly and fully considered.

If we do not receive a suitable result from the firm we will take your case to the Financial Services Ombudsman, commonly referred to as “FOS”. The FOS can do the following:

Award you up to £150,000 of compensation
Award interest to you
Award costs to you
